Ethan Joseph McGraw was born on Sunday, November 19, 1995 at 7:36 AM. His two older brothers, Erik & Jared, along with his parents, Jennifer & Joe were so very happy to add him to the family.
Ethan was an extremely happy child who loved playing sports with his dad and brothers. In April 2003, Ethan was diagnosed with medulloblastoma - a brain cancer - after a six month battle of stomach illnesses. He had brain surgery to remove the 4 cm tumor and started a high dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue protocol. He also received 6 weeks of radiation to the head and spine. He remained cancer free until November 2005. Another tumor was removed from his brain and a new chemotherapy was started. He had stereotactic radiation to the site of the tumor. He was cancer free until April 2007. A new tumor brought a new chemotherapy that was administered directly to his spinal fluid. This kept the tumor at bay until January 2008. Another new tumor...he continued on with the same chemo regimen in hopes that he would remain stable. In June 2008, a total of three tumors were growing. His prognosis was 6 months. He started a new chemotherapy regimen with hopes of 1 year. He passed peacefully and triumphantly into the arms of Jesus on September 8, 2008 at 10:01 AM.
During all of Ethan's cancer, he participated in school, sports, camps, vacations, etc. Whatever he wanted to do, he was able to do for the most part.
He made many friends along the way too. We encourage family and friends to write favorite stories or post pictures in honor of Ethan.
