Gerald Thomas Kiah was born on April 15, 1918 and left us on March 19, 2010 at the age of 91.

Gerald Thomas Kiah will be greatly missed but always be alive in our hearts.

Kiah, Gerald Thomas (Jake)
Irondequoit, NY: Age 91, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 19, 2010, with his loving family by his side. Born in Ogdensburg, NY, on April 15, 1918, Gerald was the son of George Gilbert Kiah and Mary J (Kelso) Kiah. A veteran of World War II, he served in "A" Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Regiment, 4th Marine Corps Division in Guam. On Dec. 10, 1940, he married the former Rachael Emma Duval and enjoyed a happy and blessed union of 69 years. After retiring from Kodak, Gerald made his winter home in Goodland, FL, and was an avid fisherman. Gerald is survived by his loving wife Rachael, his children, Joan Patricia (Paul) Schumacher, of Rochester, NY, Carol Ann (William) Bennett, of Ft McCoy, FL, Terri Kiah, of Ft. McCoy, FL, Paula Lee (Joey) Mickler of St. Augustine, Fl.; nine grandchildren, Tonda (Kirk) Herman, Tammy (Frank) Werner) Baker, Leeann (Al) Lizotte, Jennifer (Kirk) Patton, Jon (Michelle) Bradshaw, Tara Kiah, Christopher Kiah, Carrie Berzins, and Jodi Mickler, and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who will miss their "Grandpa". dearly. He was predeceased by his four sisters; Helen Spotswood of Ogdensburg, Gladys Douglas of NYC, Dottie Premo of Ogdensburg, and Marion Ingrassia of Rochester, and his grandson, Walter Weaver of Rochester and his great- granddaughter Stefanie Baker of Livonia. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Kirkhaven for their compassionate and wonderful care and to others who have helped to maintain a quality of life and dignity for our beloved father, grandfather and friend.


Jake was a GREAT man who carried himself with dignity, loyalty, respect, honor and integrity his whole life. We THANK him for everything he's done and all the unconditional LOVE he has showed his family and friends over the years. An exceptional role model, WONDERFUL husband, and person from beginning to end. This world is TRULY missing him. May he rest in peace.
