Hero Playing
As you can see, Hero was not a work-a-holic. He enjoyed his playtime! I know few giant dogs who can full-body tussle-play, as shown in some of these photos, without severe negative side-effects, so DON'T TRY IT WITH YOUR DOG! It is almost always an unwise type of play, but... even tho Hero tested the boundaries a couple times in the first week we had him, and in fact was mislabeled as dominant-aggressive, once he had a job and knew those boundaries, he could enjoy almost ANY activity without consequences. Hero especially enjoyed three types of playtime; any toy that squeeked (especially if it still smelled new), retrieving in the water, and tussling with my husband (who was also his primary trainer). It didn't happen frequently but I tried to catch the events on camera because it was magnificent to watch!!!
By the way, someone said Hero looked dead in the lower right corner ... no; I was making the bed with clean sheets, and Hero was always certain that laying down any large piece of fabric meant it was really important for him to go to sleep on it!
