Scooby came into our life on January, 1997 when he was adopted from a family friend. Scooby was a unique mix breed between a labrador and a shar pei. He shared many loving personality traits from a labrador but still retained his on-guard demeanor from the shar pei.

The road to obedience was difficult for Scooby. One of his favorite bad habbits was nibbling on shoes and carpet - most likely stemming from boredom. Shortly after Scooby moved in with Jean where he could enjoy another friend, Ivy - a giant schnauzer. The two quickly became acquainted.

Scooby was taken to obedience classes with Jean where he was extremely receptive. Over the course of a year Scooby transformed into being one of the most obedient loving dogs you could ever ask for. Rarely did you need to ask Scooby something twice - he was eager to respond on first command.

It was no question Scooby's best friend was Jean. Frequent camping trips with Jean, Mike, Ivy and Scooby were truly a dogs paradise. The dogs enjoyed the freedom of being off-leash outdoors and exploring new terrain with family close by. There was nothing better then a weekend out of the city.

In 2000 Scooby developed complications with his liver. He was kept medicated on steroids for over year while he developed further complications from the medicines. He left us at the young age of four in 2001.

This memorial website was created to celebrate the life and preserve our memories of our best friend Scooby.
